Namaste dear Well Wishers,
Welcome to Verse 33 of the Calendar of the Soul Verses by Rudolf Steiner.
Hope you and your loved ones are well and thriving.
Over the coming months we are spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).
On Saturday, November 17th 2012, we move to Verse 33 (Week of November 17th – 23rd). The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.
33. Thirty-third Week after Easter
(November 17th – 23rd)
I feel at last the world’s reality
Which, lacking the communion of my soul,
Would in itself be frosty, empty life,
And showing itself powerless
To recreate itself in souls,
Would in itself find only death.
(Translation: Pusch)
33. Trente troisième semaine: 17-23 novembre
A présent seulement je sens que l’univers,
Si je n’en vivais pas l’existence en mon âme,
N’aurait plus qu’une vie et d’serte et glacée ;
Et, se manifestant désormais sans vigueur,
S’il n’était à nouveau recréé dans les âmes,
Ne pourrait à lui seul que rencontrer la mort.
(Traduction: Daniel Secrétan)
33. Woche: 17-23 November
So fühl ich erst die Welt,
Die ausser meiner Seele Miterleben
An sich nur frostig leeres Leben
Und ohne Macht sich offenbarend,
In Seelen sich von neuem schaffend,
In sich den Tod nur finden könnte.
The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.
For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).
Next week we return with Verse 34 (November 24th – 30th) until then, be well.
Kindest regards,
Sri Devi
