Namaste Dear Well Wishers,
Recently, my parents scaled down from their family home to a retirement style living accommodation. It’s a monumental task, way up there on the ladder of physical and emotional stress.
Sorting through belongings with many relationships lasting decades, now it’s down to what is really meaningful, only the essentials. Put simply, turns out the winners were artwork, photos, comfortable chairs, and some technology.
Working with my Dad, I’m reminded of the beauty of silence. There’s no need for chatter, it’s get the job done, free from the clutter of the mind.
Over Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, I had the pleasure of hanging up many pieces of artwork for my parents. A perfectionist by nature, I wasn’t sure my eyeballing the measurements technique would cut it for my Dad. Turns out, my instincts were right on, fully approved and greatly appreciated.
Simplicity – the process of scaling down, appreciating the essentials, keeping the home and mind clutter-free.
Blessings Always, All Ways,
Sri Devi ॐ
