It’s optimal if you already have healthy stress relievers in place in your daily routine to turn to when we meet a challenging time. Even with a yoga and/or meditation practice, exercise routine, healthy diet etc., once a stressful situation arrives, these routines can be the first things to go!
If nothing else, BREATHE. Get out for a walk. Connect with nature.
A strategy that helped me this week (from my loved one) was to come back to the challenge in half hour intervals. Since I didn’t hold all the information I needed to make any decisions, I moved on to something that was at least productive (my choice was cleaning) in the meantime of learning more. The idea for the right phone call to make came to mind after such a break.
Solutions come to us, pray for guidance, and as the Hafiz quote says:
This place where you are right now,
God circled on the map for you.
