Namaste dear Well Wishers,
Welcome to Verse 9 of the Calendar of the Soul Verses by Rudolf Steiner.
Hope you and your loved ones are well and thriving
in your part of the world.
If this is your birthday verse this week Birthday Blessings to you!
Over the past 11 months we have been spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925). Now that we have reached the 52nd verse (after Easter) will have started from the 1st verse and are building towards Michaelmas.
On Sunday, June 2nd, we move to Verse 9 (Week of June 2nd – 8th). The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.
9. Ninth Week after Easter
(June 2nd – 8th)
When I forget the narrow will of self,
The cosmic warmth that heralds summer’s glory
Fills all my soul and spirit;
To lose myself in light
Is the command of spirit vision
And intuition tells me strongly:
O lose yourself to find yourself.
9. La Neuvième semaine: 2-8 juin
C’est sans égard pour ma volonté personnelle
Que la chaleur cosmique en annonçant l’été
Emplit mon âme et mon esprit ;
En la lumière de me perdre
M’ordonne alors la vision de l’esprit,
Et plein de force, un sentiment me dit :
Veuille te perdre, afin de te trouver.
9. Woche: 1 – 8 Juni
Vergessend meine Willenseigenheit
Erfüllet Weltenwärme sommerkündend
Mir Geist und Seelenwesen;
Im Licht mich zu verlieren
Gebietet mir das Geistesschauen,
Und kraftvoll kündet Ahnung mir:
Verliere dich, um dich zu finden.
The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.
For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).
Next week we return with Verse 10 (9th – 15 June) until then, be well.
