Week 8 May 26 – June 1 Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner in English, French, German

Namaste dear Well Wishers,

Welcome to Verse 8 of the Calendar of the Soul Verses by Rudolf Steiner.
Hope you and your loved ones are well and thriving
in your part of the world.
If this is your birthday verse this week Birthday Blessings to you!

Over the past ten months we have been spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).  Now that we have reached the 52nd verse (after Easter) will have started from the 1st verse and are building towards Michaelmas.

8. May 26- June 1st Calendar of the Soul

On Sunday, May 26th, we move to Verse 8 (Week of May 26th – June 1st).  The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.

8. Eighth Week after Easter
(May 26th – June 1st)
The senses’ might grows strong
United with the gods’ creative work;
It presses down my power of thinking
Into a dreamlike dullness.
When godly being
Desires union with my soul,
Must human thinking
In quiet dream-life rest content.
(Translation: Pusch)

(Traduction: Paccoud)

8. Woche:  26 Mai – 1 Juni
Es wächst der Sinne Macht
Im Bunde mit der Götter Schaffen,
Sie drückt des Denkens Kraft
Zur Traumes Dumpfheit mir herab.
Wenn göttlich Wesen
Sich meiner Seele einen will,
Muss menschlich Denken
Im Traumessein sich still bescheiden.

The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.

For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).

Next week we return with Verse 9 (June 2-9) until then, be well.
Kindest regards,
Sri Devi
