Namaste dear Well Wishers,
Welcome to Verse 2 of the Calendar of the Soul Verses by Rudolf Steiner.
Hope you and your loved ones are well and thriving
in your part of the world.
If this is your birthday verse this week Birthday Blessings to you!
Over the past months we have been spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925). Now that we have reached the 52nd verse (after Easter) will continue from the 1st verse and builds towards Michaelmas.
On Sunday, April 14th, we move to Verse 2 (Week of April 14th – 20th). The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.
2. Second Week after Easter
(April 14th – 20th)
Out in the sense-world’s glory
The power of thought gives up
its separate being,
And spirit worlds discover
Again their human offspring,
Who germinates in them
But in itself must find
The fruit of soul.
2. La Deuxième semaine: 14-20 avril
Dehors, dans l’univers sensible
Puissance des pensées se perd;
Les mondes de l’esprit retrouvent
Leur descendant humain
Dont le germe est en eux,
Mais qui, son fruit de l’âme
En soi devra trouver.
2. Woche: 14-20 April
Ins Äussre des Sinnesalls
Verliert Gedankenmacht ihr Eigensein;
Es finden Geisteswelten
Den Menschensprossen wieder,
Der seinen Keim in ihnen,
Doch seine Seelenfrucht
In sich muss finden.
The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.
For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).
Next week we return with Verse 3 (April 21st-27th) until then, be well.
