Week 1 April 7-13 Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner in English, French, German

Namaste dear Well Wishers,

Welcome to Verse 1 of the Calendar of the Soul Verses by Rudolf Steiner.
Hope you and your loved ones are well and thriving.
If this is your birthday verse this week Birthday Blessings to you!

Over the past months we have been spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).  Now that we have reached the 52nd verse (after Easter) will start from the 1st verse which builds towards Michaelmas.

On Sunday, April 7th, we move to Verse 1 (Week of April 7th- 13th).  The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.

1. April 7 -13 Calendar of the Soul

1. First Week after Easter
(April 7th – 13th)
When out of world-wide spaces
The sun speaks to the human mind,
And gladness from the depths of soul
Becomes, in seeing, one with light,
Then rising from the sheath of self,
Thoughts soar to distances of space
And dimly bind
The human being to the spirit’s life.
(Translation: Pusch)

(Traduction: Paccoud)

1. Woche:  7-13 April
Wenn aus den Weltenweiten
Die Sonne spricht zum Menschensinn
Und Freude aus den Seelenetiefen
Dem Licht sich eint im Schauen,
Dann ziehen aus der Selbstheit Hülle
Gedanken in de Rqumesfernen
Und binden dumpf
Des Menschen Wesen an des Geistes Sein.

The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.

For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).

Next week we return with Verse 2 (April 13th-19th) until then, be well.
Kindest regards,
Sri Devi
