We are spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).

Today, on Saturday, September 15th 2012, we move to Verse 24 (Week of September 15th – 21st).  The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.

24. Twenty-fourth Week after Easter (September 15-21)

Unceasingly itself creating,
Soul life becomes aware of self;
The cosmic spirit, striving on,
Renews itself by self-cognition,
And from the darkness of the soul
Creates the fruit of self-engendered will.

24. Vingt-quatrième semaine: 15-21 septembre

Soi-même se créant sans cesse
L’être de l’âme se perçoit soi-même;
L’esprit des mondes, il poursuit son oeuvre
Dans la soi-connaissance tout revivifié
Et fait surgir des ténèbres de l’âme
Le fruit de volonté du sens de soi.

24. Woche: 15-21 September

Sich selbst erschaffend stets,
Wird Seelensien sich selbst gewahr;
Der Weltengeist, er strebet fort
In Selbsterkenntnis neu belebt
Und schafft aus Seelenfinsternis
Des Selbstsinns Willensfucht.

The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.

For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).

Next week will be Verse 25 (September 22-28), until then, be well.
Kindest regards,
Sri Devi
