Week 18 August 4 – 10 Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner in English, French, German

Namaste Well Wishers,

Hope this finds you well and thriving in your part of the world.
If you are just joining us, welcome!

We are spending time each week with one of the 52 verses from the Calendar of the Soul meditations written in 1912 by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).

Today, on Saturday, August 4th 2012, we move to Verse 18 (Week of August 4th – August 10th).  The verses were originally written in German by Rudolf Steiner, included here are translations into English and French.

18. Eighteenth Week after Easter (August 4 – 10)

Can I expand my soul
That it unites itself
With cosmic Word received as seed?
I sense that I must find the strength
To fashion worthily my soul
As fitting raiment for the spirit.

18. Woche: 4 – 10 August

Kann ich die Seele weiten,
Dass sie sich selbst verbindet
Empfangnem Welten-Keimesworte?
Ich ahne, dass ich Kraft muss finden,
Die Seele würdig zu gestalten,
Zum Geistes-Kleide sich zu bilden.

The Meditations invite us to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual forces at work throughout the year.

For Rudolf Steiner the year begins with Easter so the verses are numbered 1 to 26 for the summer half of the year (Easter to Michaelmas) and verses 27 to 52 for the winter months (Michaelmas to Palm Sunday).

Next week will be Verse 19 (August 11-17), until then, be well.
Kindest regards,
Sri Devi
