Namaste Well Wishers,
Welcome to Day Twenty-Two of Project Moon Log,
It’s been three weeks since we began tracking the Moon’s energies. We are on the home stretch to the New Moon in Gemini which will be with us next weekend on Sunday 20th May 2012 at 7:47 pm EDT.
The Moon continues to move through Aquarius all day today until Sunday 13th May 2012 at 6:06 am EDT when the Moon will be Void-of-Course until 7:42 am EDT before entering Pisces. Tomorrow we will look at the characteristics of the Pisces Moon.
So, a friendly mood continues for the weekend and a chance to connect with the community in a meaningful way. We all have unique gifts to share, under the Aquarian Moon, our uniqueness is called upon and celebrated. How will you connect with others this weekend?
A new way of communicating has been developing in our household since the blessing of a kitten last August. We have been teaching Michi human words for the everyday things that she sees and review them at night when we say goodnight to her. Things like car car, mommy, dada, kitty, ball, numnums, banana, cheese, squirrel, birdy, tree. Her little tail wags for each word mentioned. She goes to “school” every day and is learning how to count (she runs after the ball on the count of 3), on and off (for the water droplets).
Was speaking with a colleague at school about communicating with animals this week. She had a wonderfully heartfelt story to tell the Nursery children how it came to be that the chicks were in their classroom to be hatched.
Serendipitously, I came across a book later that day to help solidify and grow what we had been speaking about. It’s called The Animal Connection: A Guide to Intuitive Communication with Your Pet by Judy Meyer. Simple, easy to read and so reassuring. Already, as animal lovers we are probably doing some of this already but the tweaking of what we are doing will shine with some amazing results.
Ms Meyer reminds us that we all have this intuitive ability to communicate with animals already. Animals “see” things in pictures, so while we are thinking about getting that can of food out to feed our pet, they are already making their way there, how often have you noticed this?
Our kitten Michi knows when we are peeling a banana every time! Wherever she is in the house “fast asleep” or playing, she comes running within seconds of our starting to peel the banana. We were thinking she had super sonic hearing but realize now that she must picture the banana we are thinking about eating and gets a head start on us!
Something that we changed right away after reading Ms Meyer’s book was giving Michi a job to do whenever we leave the house. We tell Michi where we are going, what time we’ll return and what her job is (you are to look after kitty, rest and watch the birdies, take care of the house) and a Thank You.
Ms Meyers reminds us to treat our animal companions intelligently, with all the consideration we would another person and member of our household. We wouldn’t just leave without giving an indication of when we’d return. This approach has proven invaluable for her clients to correct unwanted behaviors in the house when pets are left alone.
There are some amazing suggestions, all easy to put in place and with a sincere heartfelt willingness to succeed, we shall. Hope you’ll give it a try too! Let us know how it goes, and we’ll do the same. Please feel free to leave a comment with this post or e-mail directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blessings on your day, in every way!
