Namaste Well Wishers,
It’s Day Seven of Project Moon Log, and the Moon resides in Cancer all day long up to the Void-of-Course Moon at 5:25 am EDT tomorrow.
First a quick reminder of the mood and feel of the day while the Moon is in Cancer.
The ruling Goddess of the day is the Moon, the mysterious mirror reflecting our longings, home to our dark side. Also, Demeter the Goddess of Grain and Fertility.
Watch out for a vulnerability and sensitivity in the air. We can choose feeling overwhelmed and defensive or center ourselves.
Water is our Medicine – bathe, hydrate.
The wardrobe department suggests something conservative, modest and perhaps old-fashioned today.
From April Kent Elliott’s book Practical Astrology our Guides for the day are: Women, Mothers, Bakers and Cooks, Crabs, Domestic Workers, Caretakers, Lunatics, Night Birds, Security Officers.
Today’s assignments from Practical Astrology: Nourish ourselves and others with food for the mind, body and spirit.
Project Moon Log – Observations for the Moon in Cancer
What have you observed about the Cancer Moon energy? Have you enhanced the sacredness of your home? In what ways? Are you feel overwhelmed, sensitive, defensive, centered?
Previously I had mentioned that this project has inspired me to get creating my own interpretations of the Moon and I have started to adapt some of my astrology artwork into moon creations for the Well Wishers Blog. If you like, take a look back at the earlier Moon Log posts for a wee look. Should you have some Moon inspired creations to share please feel free to send a link to some of your work!
The Moon in Cancer is proving quite a sensitive time. At school, a teacher had been away sick for the first three days of the week, returning yesterday. She was saying how she immediately noticed it was like a pressure cooker when she walked in to the school.
The excellent memory for feelings gifted with having my Moon placement in Cancer stores them all, not just the positive ones! So, I’ve been finding with the Moon now in Cancer the smallest trigger can bring forth a hurtful memory, one where something felt unjust and then it’s so easy for the mind to rehash all the details and angles and outcomes and better endings. It’s helping to remember the Moon is in Cancer right now and stop the monkey mind from revisiting the memory and move on.
There is a sacredness in the home, and I just went to choose three Angel cards to deliver a message about this Cancer Moon:
Humour Simplicity Harmony
Humour is definitely a helpful one. Yesterday, on the streetcar a baby was in one of those glorious laughing fits that sounds straight from heaven and it took me a bit of time to snap out of the mind and feel this pure joy surrounding us. Caught taking life too seriously yesterday!
Simplicity. Good plan. Have noticed on several occasions I’m reading things more complicated into what someone was saying or others hearing my words and their feeling defensive when it wasn’t intended that way. Keep it simple!
Harmony. That comes back to the advice of keeping centered even if it is feeling like a flood! Swing the pendulum of thoughts back to center. Celebrate the sacredness of the Home.
Come on out of your shell, even if you’re feeling crabby these days, please do share your thoughts and observations with us this Cancer Moon, either by leaving a comment here or e-mailing directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blessings on your day in every way and celebrate the Sacred in the Home!
P.S. Good news folks, while I was finishing this post our kitten chose three Angel Cards herself and they were Abundance Joy and Prosperity!
