Namaste Well Wishers,
Today is the New Moon in Taurus and in keeping with the energy of new beginnings and Taurus’s patient and steadfast striving I’ve decided to launch an exploration into the effects of the Moon’s energy from day to day in my life.
It’s something I’ve become more and more fascinated with over the past five years or so. Have you noticed there are some days when it seems everyone behind the wheel is in a rush and aggressive? Being a pedestrian, I’m extra careful on those days and I’ve also noticed that some days I’ll just be in a mood for filing and sorting those accumulated papers with the greatest of ease.
Though I have not made a point of consciously following what sign the Moon is in day to day and relating it to the mood and feel in my personal life and those around me, I have looked back and noticed often enough that the Moon was in Virgo when I had those fantastic fits of sorting, filing and tidying up. Now, in fairness, I have five planets in Virgo so I must be more inclined to this than some!
What if we used the Moon’s energy of the day to help us accomplish those tasks that naturally come with the territory? That’s where Project Moon Log comes in. We’ll track where the Moon is throughout it’s next 28 day cycle around the Earth starting today until the next New Moon in Gemini. Let’s find out how to put the energies to their best advantage and see what happens.
A great resource for tracking the Moon is the calendar date book We’Moon. There are many ways of finding this out on-line, and likely I will list more as we go, one I visit regularly is the site Zodiac Arts.
So we know that the Moon is in Taurus right now and the Moon stays in each sign for approximately two and a quarter days. There is a ruling planet to consider, an overall mood, color and wardrobe preferences, signs to look for and assignments too. Let’s get started, shall we?
Venus is the ruling planet so an appreciation of love and beauty prevails. Take time to smell the roses and tend to our gardens, appreciate the abundance that surrounds us and take stock of all the blessings in our lives.
Overall the mood is relaxed, not rushing about or rushing decisions. A time to really appreciate our food, the textures, smells and tastes. Perhaps indulge in some pampering with a massage.
The color for the Moon in Taurus is green and style is conservative, well made clothing.
From a wonderful book I’ve recently discovered by April Kent Elliott called Practical Astrology she suggests some Guides for the Moon in Taurus, namely, bankers, gardeners, confectioners, dancers, musicians (especially singers), cherubs, children and housecats.
Suggested Assignments (from Practical Astrology) are to count our blessings, inventory our belongings, shop for essential, big ticket items and garden.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes!

Sri, this is so interesting. I can’t wait to read more of this! Being in the restaurant business for 33 years I can definitely tell when there is a full moon. People just seem to act differently. We always say when we’re having a weird night “It must be a full moon!”

Thanks for taking the time to leave a note Betsy. Wow! 33 years in the restaurant biz, you sure know what you’re talking about with the Full Moon madness, and as a teacher these past 11 years, we also have a good taste of it too!
Kind regards, and blessings to you and your loved ones,
Sri
