Remembering Birthdays

Namaste Well Wishers,

Happy Birthday Wish by Heart to Art

When it comes to wishing someone well – Birthdays are a popular time to do so. If it is someone in your immediate family you likely will celebrate it together in some way, big or small. As you grow older, your children grow older, families and friends spread out or grow apart you likely do not live nearby to see each other on or near your Birthdays. So there is always a telephone call, Skype or a text! Perhaps you send flowers or a gift basket, or a present in the mail.

Most likely though if you were to remember someone’s Birthday and wanted to do a little something for them you’d send out a Greeting Card. Now, which one?!!!? Are you a handmade greeting card person? If you aren’t, there’s still your children. Do you have a favorite store to go to and browse for cards? Are you someone who plans ahead and picks them up when you see them, if so, how do you keep track of them?!?  Seriously, I’m curious!

Nowadays there are many on-line greeting card stores that make it very easy to plan ahead – you pick out the card, can alter the inside verse to personalize the message and arrange to have it sent when you want either directly to the Birthday person or addressed to yourself. You might send an e-card. This is an eco-friendly choice, though there is something so special about receiving a card in the mail.

Happy Birthday to a Dear Friend by Heart to Art

Being more a handmade greeting card person myself, I enjoy honoring birthdays with an original creation for the recipient. There has always been a fascination for me to know when people’s Birthdays are. Throughout the year I will still remember whose Birthday it is – people I may or may not be in touch with from Grade school, High School, University friends, friends from when I lived in Europe, colleagues from School where I presently teach, current Students and Graduates too, even casual acquaintances.

It’s a passion of mine to know when people’s birthdays are and I have a love of Astrology too. I like to make the astrological connections and link who has the same Birthdays. I don’t have it all memorized though, the Birthdays are written down in my Daily Meditations book by Krishnamurti, The Book of Life. So each day I give a thought of wellness for every Birthday I have entered.

When I was asking fellow Artists at Greeting Card Universe today when their Birthdays were many have a memory for Birthdays like I do. Others know they won’t remember so are happy to have Facebook’s reminders, Birthday Reminders.com or phone/computer reminders to help them out. A wonderful suggestion came to instead celebrate a Birthday Week… I’m all for that!  Some mentioned they might remember a friend’s Birthday but they may not get to sending out a card. This is what I’d like to address next.

Even if we don’t make contact through a Birthday Greeting card or phone call etc. I believe that taking a moment and sending your friends and loved ones positive energy for wellness is still beneficial. Some people don’t like to be reminded about their Birthday, so I am sensitive to that. However, I feel there is only one You in the world and that’s worth celebrating, and I’ll still send you Light!

With time, the Well Wishers Group will have numerous examples to show this benefit of sending positive Energy and Light. Especially when we look at heartfelt wishes that are made and witness them realize. We’ll be able to pray for those needing healing and celebrate their wellness when it happens.

In conclusion, I invite anyone to get in touch by leaving a comment with this post if they have a Birthday coming up and would like to make a Birthday wish or Intention for themselves. Sometimes too, you can feel so full of Light on your Birthday you might want to make a wish for someone else or for the world. We are here to discover the potential together.

If you are a Greeting Card Artist and you have a favorite Birthday card you have created please feel free to leave a link to your card when you leave a comment with this post.

    Hi Sri,
I love the whole idea about remembering birthdays, I feel as you do that we are all special, and the day we arrive on the planet Earth is a day to be celebrated. I don’t recall having birthday parties growing up, so now I’m sure to do something special for myself on my big day every year!
I love creating cards, and birthday cards especially, which I do on GreetingCardUniverse. Here is one I’d like to share with you..
